Quite popish-music from the german 80's. First starting in english language, after 2:12 min switching into german! The lyrics are not very dramatic, but who care's! From 1986 released on Jupiter! You can do further research by using the keyword "Dschinghis Khan Family".

Cock and bull stories : Scarcubem '88

You may wonder what Marc and Martin did before they started their great scarcubem-project in the mid-90's. They played out some kinky music at plushy venues! Here we have som' archive material from around 1988!

Lucy and Bart
Off the cuff and out of nothing.
Lucy and Bart is a collaboration between Lucy McRae and Bart Hess described as an instinctual stalking of fashion, architecture, performance and body. Explosive_high impact_suggestive photography, with no specific intention, other than to make and metabolise.

Dance Club - Papaya (1984)

"The papaya (from Carib via Spanish) is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya, in the genus Carica. It is native to the tropics of the Americas, and was first cultivated in Mexico several centuries before the emergence of the Mesoamerican classic cultures. It is often called a "paw paw" or a "big melon" but the North American pawpaw is a different species, in the genus Asimina." - Source: Wiki.
A loose get-together of italians(some of them are quite known in specific circles) made some beats in the early eighties and sang over them, rapped over them, they just did their stuff over them. They clearly had the papaya in their mouths at least in their minds while they produced this nice piece of music. Listening to this is just fun for me, nothing more nothing less.

26.03. : Luv Dancin' with Filippo Moscatello, Loud E and Knüppel @ Root Club Ulm

The wheel has come full circle! Filippo Moscatello, one of the most eccentric caretakers of Ulm's musical heritage, is back in town with a new monthly night called "Luv Dancin" at Root club, the well known basement venue in the heart of the cities pedestrian precinct.
Filippo Moscatello is a cool cat! After travelling the earth, under his glittering "Naughty" moniker, as one of the key figures of the International Deejay Gigolo era, he soon noticed that there is a lot more to do than drinking champagne with Karl Lagerfeld. After pooling his strengths for creative music efforts, he made highly acclaimed EP's for the belgium based hipster Label Eskimo Recordings, simultaneously paying tribute to his very own heroes like Armando and the Chicago House Music scene.
Filippo was still travelling the earth, now using the Berlin airport as his starting point. The capital of Germany already took a big role in his life, as he was helping to evolve the cities club sounds with much-noticed residencies at Cookies and the 12th floor based Weekend venue. His outcome "One Naughty night in Berlin" is an impressive music chronicle of that specific period and it is still easily passing the test of time.
Our most beloved Gigolo made necessary and sensible transitions during his time in Berlin and he still does! Casting off the "Naughty" alias and relocating with new record labels were parts of his natural movement to push things onwards. Filippo found a new home with Moodmusic and endowed the Label with vivid club EP's. The Moodmusic Filippo Moscatello affairs reached peak with a valuable album called Pagliaccio, whose tracks still get plays in the foremost clubs!
We have early spring in 2010 and the man himself is back with a new chapter in his musical career! He keeps watching his output on his own Couture imprint and all his creative energy will flow into the "Luv Dancin" residencies, in Berlin and Ulm.
And yes, he is still naughty, in a good way, as a dj! His sets are spiked with idiosyncratic house drafts, appropriate and rocking club tunes, classic 12 inches and italian disco songs, which have right kick to blow your ass!
We are really looking forward to the first of the Luv Dancin series in Ulm, to hold Filippo once again in our arms! We'll have plenty of time for this as he has backup on the dj booth with Loud E, the holland disco king and Knüppel, the watchman of Berlin's rarest disco records!
You know what? Get your hips to Root club, to see an appearance of Filippo Moscatello, it could be a rare one, 'cause he's still travelling a lot!

Bonzo Goes To Washington - 5 Minutes (C-C-C-Club Mix) (1984)

We have a meaty leftfield production here from the well known P Funk Master Bootsy Collins teaming up with Talking Heads Member Jerry Harrison, calling themselves Bonzo Goes to Washington for this one off project on the immortal Sleeping Bag Recordlabel. On top of it, you can hear former US President Ronald Reagan talking about bombing Russia in 5 Minutes. This is nothing but eighties chronicles!

20.03.2010 : bleepgeeks @ eden feat. dj Finn Johannsen

Finn Johannsen is a music nerd in the most positive sense. Being raised in Schleswig-Holstein's provincial capital Kiel, he soon noticed that there is more to life than catboats and sailing regattas. Being infected with music of all kinds, Finn stumbled across dance music during his time in late-80's Hamburg, where he witnessed the hedonism, sinful behaviour and musical bliss of Klaus Stockhausen's legendary 'Front' clubnights at first hand. Hip hop, Chicago house, Italian disco and American boogie were accompanied by techno from Detroit and Sheffields first Warp records. To this day, Finn holds true that 'anything goes' ethic as long as it moves your feet and your heart: Be it as an adept DJ, an editor for one of Germany's most important electronic music magazines De:Bug or together with Stefan Goldmann behind the daring Macro label.
We truly feel blessed to welcome Finn Johannsen to the holy rooms of eden!

Ray Carlton - Superfine
How does a boogish musicproduction from Germany sound in 1987? Maybe incredibly obscure and bad. Here we have a proof of it. Everything's included: Weird vocals (from i think : invited singers from the US), bad percussion combined with low budget horns and FM-Piano out of the midi-expander. Nevertheless, it's worth listening (and collecting) it! Recorded and mixed at Europasound Studio, Bad Homburg. Produced by Carsten Reeck. Released on "Rekord". If you know more about this record, let me know!
The last and final Rickard Lindqvist collection

The last and final collection by swedish designer Rickard Lindqvist is now availble from their online store. There wil be no more collections produced with the Rickard Lindqvist label.
Sad news!
Saw the first pieces in the online shop today. I think they'll put in some more stuff soon...
Take a look here!
Three Records to go for!!! # 3
Our heading "Three Records to go for!!!" is meant to highlight you some records, mostly newer ones, that turned out into the bleepgeeks music radar through utterly coincidences, well researched record hunts or any other fortunate circumstances. The stuff we introduce can be dance music, comedy, non-dance music, originals, reissues, bootlegs or limited pieces, we don't separate!
In some cases we just liked the Cover of that Record, sometimes we made a mispurchase and sometimes our mandibles came off because of the music which was carved into the rills!
We won't do any reviews, puffing these records up to holy grails or slam them into wax garbage!
It's just made for you to (hopefully) discover new music and new sleeves! We wish you a lot of fun while finding these records at your local record shop on the streets or in your world wide virtual reality through clicking on to your favourite record stop!
Vinyl, we love you lock, stock and barrell!

B. Blase - Shake It Now (1984)

Here we have an offering from another stop in the apparently neverending journey through the world of disco and electronic music from Italy. It's B. Blase with Shake it Now. It's useful, it's not so expensive, not so rare maybe due to this, but it makes the collector happy! I've chosen the Instrumental version to share with you. No special reason, i like both versions.
Try it!

Jerzzey Boy - The Lost Cuts E.P.
I just came across this video by pure accident. It's showing two guys sitting in a studio, one of them is playing some tracks. Nothing too special up to that point. The real interesting piece of news about this recording is that one of the guys seems to be Jerzzey Boy, a renown early nineties House producer from the New Jersey movement. Looks like the Jerzzey Boy is back in the game after so many years! Oh boy, those tracks that are played in the video! Essential sounding Garage and New Jersey House sounds, with infectious grooves and deep basslines! You rarely hear things like this in current productions. They say the tracks will come out soon...we're waiting wistfully!!!
