Finn Johannsen at bleepgeeks + Panoramabar mix for modifyer

The speculations about our bleepgeeks march edition finally came to an end! We greatly feel honoured and we truly feel blessed to welcome Finn Johannsen, one of the most gracious and humble figures of Berlins glittering nightlife! This man really has his plate full! He is an experienced and sophisticated dj's dj, a versed journalist for de:bug and a whole series of other publications and NOT last but not least, the label head of Macro with his partner Stefan Goldmann. The list of appreciation letters could go a lot longer but we will stop here to give you an example of his supreme discipline: Playing music for people!

In this particular case he re-recorded and mixed his set at the panoramabar once again for the San Francisco blog modifyer. Pure listening pleasures for y'all!

Albert Daiber in SWP Ulm

For those of you who have never been there. The Albert Daiber location is a place at Neue Straße/Ehinger Tor, operated by two young and motivated cats called Laura Schupp and Wanda Wollinsky. The space randomly opens its doors for parties, poetry slams, exhibitions and other occasions. Trashy and pleasant in its look, DIY in its approach, Albert Daiber is already a shure shot for those who know and a new and cool addition to Ulm's nightlife. You can see a picture of our friends Laura and Wanda on the picture below. So, you young and aspiring space crackers, go on an do your thing! We like it a lot!




So what's going on with the news. The local paper SWP has discovered Ulm's new hope in alternative amusement and culture. They've given its carriers an adequate space to reveal themselves about their incitements and the state of play. Reiner Türke, an administrator in the Citizens Registration Office speaks about Albert Daibers problems in their early days and the report gives an informative view for laymen and fanciers of what is and what was happening in that spot.

Our heading "Three Records to go for!!!" is meant to highlight you some records, mostly newer ones, that turned out into the bleepgeeks music radar through utterly coincidences, well researched record hunts or any other fortunate circumstances. The stuff we introduce can be dance music, comedy, non-dance music, originals, reissues, bootlegs or limited pieces, we don't separate!
In some cases we just liked the Cover of that Record, sometimes we made a mispurchase and sometimes our mandibles came off because of the music which was carved into the rills!
We won't do any reviews, puffing these records up to holy grails or slam them into wax garbage!
It's just made for you to (hopefully) discover new music and new sleeves! We wish you a lot of fun while finding these records at your local record shop on the streets or in your world wide virtual reality through clicking on to your favourite record stop!

Very interesting piece by Line Bech. This can be worn in every direction because there is no up or down, no right or left, only a front and a back. When it hangs on the wall it's a big sun with eight legs/arms. This is what someone can call multiple use!

Twice Of Love - 24 Hours From Culture

This is one of my favourite Tracks from the New Beat era. Produced by the two belgian guys Bruno Van Garsse and Jacky Meurisse, Twice of Love seemingly was a one off project, maybe just done to make their interpretation of New Musik's 24 Hours From Culture, no more, no less, right? The whole track has a very clean production that somehow creates a cold and specific new beatish feeling which is broken in patches by a warm laughing and spoken voice by a female vocalist. It catches me in a right way and that weird but stretching arrangement keeps me interested every time!

There was even a mini-cd release of this single in 1989, i don't know why, maybe you know why? Let me know!

Kevin Irving - Children of the Night

I always have mixed feelings when i hear this track. It's clearly one of those moodier outputs on Trax Records. Sometimes the vocals make sense to me, sometimes not. Sometimes i really like the drum programming and sometimes i don't. The piano line puts some dancefloor appeal into the track and reminds me of some Marshall Jefferson/On the House efforts. Kevin Irvings voice sounds trustfull and somehow pleasant but not musical at all. Is this track just an assembly line production or is it more, i can't determine it clearly. Maybe you can help me out, hahah! Seeing that Larry Sherman was the producer just does the rest!

What can i say? We are all children of the night!

The We ♡ Ulm Team is very proud to present the first parts of the S/S 10 Collection.

The two pieces which were released are for our We ♡ Ulm gents! Nice shapes and two varying shades of grey are building the sweatshirts and our We ♡ Ulm Logo was transformed into a new dimension by using a brush technique to create the Logo fonts!

As the most of you already know, the goodies are available through the We ♡ Ulm Shop, the Lacee Store at Hafengasse 24 in Ulm and Friseursalon Fräulein Hildebrand at Augsburgerstrasse 52 in Neu-Ulm.

Permanent Vacation @ bleepgeeks

Wow! We had a great weekend with our friends Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich from Permanent Vacation Records. They came over for a weekend visit in Ulm, we had a lot of good food and they played a great set at our bleepgeeks night. Their music was ranging from contemporary House, Permanent Vacation Classics to obscure Disco Edits and caused super cool fun on the dancefloor! We were so happy, the people were happy and they were happy too! Everyone was just happy!
Oh, and the Permanent Vacation bosses, as nice as they are, didn't forget to bring some gifts for us lucky bleepgeeks. Here's a random selection of what came in at the bleepgeeks headquarter!
