Time for som' froggin' punk. Discogs says: "Limited and hand-numbered edition of 1000 in individual printed sleeve. The front cover shows a print where somebody actually put color on his butt and sat on the cover. The cover back shows a print of his dick!" I say: How disgusting! I will only touch the cover with gloves again... Haha....

Fried Tofu Edits Vol. 2

We got mail from Fried Tofu Headquarters! No, there wasn't any Tofu wrapped in but very good news from the release corner. The faithfully conducted vinyl only label is based around the idea of creating dedicated edits from well known and obscure disco/funk tunes without walking right into the 'bass-war', 'loudness' and 'cheap showmanship' trap, which is sadly the case these days, considering all the imersional and unimaginative edit releases that flood the market(we naturally stay out of the judges and hangmen game though). As opposed to this Fried Tofu is doing super well, has done a great job with its first record and the second one with even more discofied madness is just to come. Fried Tofu is on the bleepgeeks disco radar. Boogie while its hot and before they're gone!

BleepGeeks AT the SOJU BAR BERLIN : Shoot !

So great we are visiting soju bar again. This time with the whole crew (if nobody gets sick :-). Anyway we`re really looking forward to meet all our friends, lovers and soulmates. Sometimes it`s sad when you see people leaving into the big cities, but it`s great as well to finally meet up again and share music, drinks and memories.

We`ve seen the future and it will be ... awesome!

Bleepgeeks with Hunee @ Soju Bar Berlin

Berlin Madness! We had such a great night on Friday last week with beautiful vibes at Kreuzbergs Killer Spot Soju! That bar/club/karaoke thing Soju is around the famous Skalitzer Strasse in Kreuzberg and can be outlined as a dessert place for the Kimchi Princess restaurant. Both places are next to each other and our new friend and music enthusiast Hyun Wanner is the manager of both places. He's doing his job very good! Those korean billboards are true eyecatchers and complement this cosy and graceful place perfectly with its good soundsystem and fantastic drinks!

And Yes, we played over 9 hours of our favourite music, together with our terrific all-time homie Hunee! What a blast! It's always very inspirational to see Hunee playing records, as he is so avid with music and super energetic! There is nuthin' but 100% passion in it! We're highly thankful for everything, Hunee, Soju and Hyun, all the dancers and our dear Ulmer who showed up and made a great night even greater!

We'll be back soon, for sure!

Restaurant Little Otik in Berlin

The Little Otik is a new and very pleasant addition to the rich and diverse restaurant scenery of Berlin. It opened its doors just a few months ago in August and i already heard a lot of good things about the dishes served over there. Run by our friend Jeffrey Sfire(who incidentally comes amongst our favourite italo djs) and his Partner Kevin Avery from New York, Little Otik serves quality and classic european dishes, supporting local cultivation and farmers, plus fruit and vegetable purchases on the markets in and around Berlin, by sophisticated chief Avery.

It is a follow up to their highly successfull Palisaden Supper Club dinner project, were they monthly invited 10 people(by e-mail processing) to their home for a three course meal. The small and sought-out menu of Gräfestraße 10 based Little Otik changes nearly every day(as its printed on a daily basis) and is mostly based on vegetarian dishes and various types of meats on the main course. One of the most eye-cathing things about the menu is the wide choice of desserts like Apple Almond Crumb Pie or Parsnip Cake with Brown Sugar Caramel, which surely makes sweet teeths very happy!

Opening times are from Wednesday till Saturday starting at 6 in the evening. My friends told me that its wise to make a reservation(tel. 030-50362301). I'm already looking forward to say hi to Jeffrey and getting my belly satisfied!

Sa. 18.09.2010 : bleepgeeks feat. dj Hunee (Retreat/Berlin) @ Cabaret eden

Well, having Hunee playing a bleepgeeks night is a really special thing for us! Bright eyes, winged hearts, liberated souls and tons of pleasant anticipation, all at once is going the circuit in our sweet and cosy bleepgeeks office!

Let's get to know Hunee a little better:

Hunee is a good eater. He comes from a grey and boring city, where heavy industrialization and green forests go hand in hand. In his teenage years, he used to colour this environment with rap and soul music.

Now being a Berlin resident for almost ten years – he eats bumpin’ disco for breakfast, heats up deep jackin’ music for lunch and slows it soulfully down for dinner. In the night he prefers to spend his time cookin a special meal on the turntables. He is a good swimmer too – when he’s out of the water, he makes records for labels like feel music, W.T. Records, Permanent Vacation, Internasjonal and Retreat.

motherland - doesnt really matter

Our friends of the band motherland from berlin have done a new music video for their song "doesnt really matter". The band was established by the terrific beat composer Samuel Long from Manchester in late 2007 if i'm not mistaken. They originally appeared as a triumvirate existing of the two singers Marcella + Sabine Gottfried and Samuel behind the machines but by now they found their ideal formation with Matthew Lutz-Kino from New York entering them as an artistic performer and vocalist.
Clever beatprogramming, coming out sometimes lo-fi and heart-rendingly vintage, catchy voices by Marcella + Sabine and a stunning stage performance come into my mind when thinking about motherland.
