His Prisencolinensinainciusol is a great pop song, which got touched by the magic edit-hands of Greg Wilson a few years ago. Here in its full original old-vinyl-ripped glory!

Leslie McKeown - Shall i do it

Energetic heavy rock disco!

Leslie McKeown - Shall i do it

----

From wikipedia.org (German)

Es folgten „Love Is Just A Breath Away“ (D #44), „Love Hurts And Love Heals“ (D #47) und „It's A Game“ (D #33) von dem Soundtrack „Rivalen der Rennbahn“ (Platz zwei der deutschen Charts).

Die Hälfte der Lieder auf seinem Album „The First Album“ produzierte Leslie selbst: „Looking For Love“, „Natural Lover“, „I Need Your Love“ und „I'll Be Your Lover“.

R.I.P. Gil Scott-Heron

You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials,
Because the revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruptions.
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John
Mitchell, General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be brought to you by the
Schaefer Award Theatre and will not star Natalie
Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia.
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal.
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs.
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
thinner, because the revolution will not be televised, Brother.

There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run,
or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
or report from 29 districts.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of Whitney Young being
run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process.
There will be no slow motion or still life of Roy
Wilkens strolling through Watts in a Red, Black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the proper occasion.

Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville
Junction will no longer be so damned relevant, and
women will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day.
The revolution will not be televised.

There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock
news and no pictures of hairy armed women
liberationists and Jackie Onassis blowing her nose.
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb,
Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom
Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat.

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.

JD Twitch from the well known Optimo Dj-crew has mixed a very nice Podcast, which is fantastically portraying the UK Bass and Bleep Sound with tunes, ranging from the very beginning of the movement until its latest excesses. The mix expertly connects the dots between the early sounds of labels like WARP and productions from a new breed of artists, who are trying bring the ideas from back then to the fore. As readable as listenable the podcast is, is a text(check here) by JD Twitch, which is accompanying the mix. A great little history lesson, packed in 130 minutes and 40 records. Hats off!

Peter Griffin - Spiderman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Griffin (17 December 1939 - 17 January 2007) was a German disco musician.

Peter Kamp was born on the 17th of December. He is the father of 5 children. Alexandra, Patricia, Dominic and the twins Nicolas and Robin. He was the owner of a German discotheque called Griffin's, in the city of Baden-Baden

His first release was the 7" single "I Hate the Music" in 1977, followed by "I'm in the Race" in 1978. In 1979, he released "Spiderman" as his third single. Shortly thereafter, the 12" version was released and the song became a major club hit that year.

He had two other club hits between 1980-1981. The songs were "Step By Step", which was originally released on Electrola Records of Germany. The song gained popularity as an import, and the fledgling Moby Dick Records picked it up for U.S. release, issuing a remixed version. The following year Electrola issued "Inside Out", another up-tempo number. No American company opted to license it, yet it still received good club exposure. After his music career, he was very successful with several restaurants in Baden-Baden, Achern, Prague, and San Diego.

He is the father of actress/model Alexandra Kamp, born 1966.

Peter Griffin died on 17 January 2007 in Baden-Baden, Germany at the age of 67.

Sa. 21.05.2011: bleepgeeks feat. LEXX (Drumpoet Community/Zürich) @ Eden, Ulm

LEXX TO THE MAXXX! Der Produzent und Dj Alex Storrer a.k.a. Lexx ist Zürichs unbestrittener Superman of Sound.

We want LEXX TO THE MAXXX!

Jonathans Funky's Visit is a big winner, pumped with a vast amount of funkyness. The whole album is a winner, scoring good with krautrocked synths and ambient landscapes. Miharu Koshi delivered a nice little album called Parallelisme with helping hands from Haruomi Hosono. Hosono(who perpetuated himself in the history books with his YMO Project) brings a lefty and squirky synth-pop production to the table and Miharu Koshi is shining with her velvety-soft voice on nearly all tracks. Ryugujo No Koibito is a thoughtful ballad, although i have no clue what its all about. Anyway, i'm parallelized!

Jacques Mercier - Mon Amour des Iles

Great french uptempo boogie of this well-discovered classique on Flarenasch. Sure, the B-Side "Les filles des chez Regine" is the winner... but the A-Side really's hunting well. Whenever i look at the cover i believe that the guy has long hair, but he hasn't. It's just a funny fusion (and illusion) of the jungle background and his hair cut. Photographers of the 80ies, you're killing me...

The world's most important 6-sec drum loop

This 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.
