Xalan - I Only Move For Money (1984)

We really had a lot of flea market trips and record fair visits over the last few months and this particular one here was one of those records which turned up quite a few times(needless to say that we're talking about records in our field of interest, not about the late Whitney Houstons and the countless UB 40's, although we hold them honorably).
Xalan is pure Italo sleaze, funnily enough, produced by the spanish brothers Tucho and Xeno Balado(i love these names!), offering tight slo-mo beats, italoized english and highly important lyrics, delicious cheese and scads of toms(in two versions, one in english and one in spanish). The arrangement is well made and makes fun to follow along.

To put the whole thing in a nutshell: This gem seems a bit overlooked and if you purchase one you get double satisfaction! The music on the one hand and the psyched out and beautiful gatefold cover(you can see it on the pics above) on the other hand. My copy is from Metrovynil, which makes it even more collectable in all.

Grab it, this will look extremely good in your record shelves!
