Promishlennya Arkitektura (Промышленная Архитектура) - Tochki (Instruktor)

This is Tochki (Instruktor) (Точки (Инструктор), which means something like DotsInstructor) by Russian post-punk/industrial/avant-band Industrial Architecture (Промышленная Архитектура). The song featured here was the opening track of their only album, Love And Technology, released in 1988.

Formed in late 1988 by Dmitri Selivanov, a former member of legendary punk band Grazhdanskaya Oborona. He commited suicide by hanging himself with a scarf in April 1989, shortly after the release of this cassette. The band only released this album, featuring Soviet-era drum machines and weird sounding keyboards. (words by )

Sa. 17.12.2011: bleepgeeks with Ron Morelli (L.I.E.S. / New York) @ Eden, Ulm

From Head To Toe!!!

Race 'n Rhythm - Album One

Solid mid-80s boogie-funk LP outta Oakland. "I can't see why" is my personal favourite with that great swing, supported by deep chords and good arrangement. The other tracks are also interesting with slaps'n'synths in it.

Fr. 18.11.2011: bleepgeeks w/ the bleepgeeks dj's @ Cabaret eden

Every single resident night is special for us. It's always some sort of reflection of our musical status quo, compared with the past and furnished with a hint of the future. Preferences change all the time, maybe because of the season, everyones frame of mind or just because of thousands of other (un)important reasons. For instance, i haven't played straight disco for a while, but my last gig in munich brought me back to some of my favourite disco tracks and it felt so right to play them out(aditionally noticed that disco records arrive in my PO Box all the time). Blending, cutting and struggling with disco mixes is always so much fun. We'll see if Friday night will be all about Disco for me or will it be some raw Belgian acid-soaked and sex-vocalised New Beat? The list of flavours could go on and on, it always depends on the mood, but we already mentioned this earlier, right!? A bleepgeeks resident night is playground!

Sa. 12.11.2011: Serdar Dogan w/ Mooner @ Charlie / Munich

I'm really curious about Saturday. Munich is saying hello with another addition to its already vibrant club scene. I was told that their newbie Charlie was particularly built to fulfill all those frequently invoked special needs(with a dose of useful nostalgia), which a decent club in a classic sense requires. A room with the right size, a wooden floor, a dj booth with vintage equipment and the most important, a powerful soundsystem, everything set in the right direction. I will share the night with Dj Mooner, an expert and prolific librarian in cosmic dance music and more important, a good friend of mine. This will be our fourth gig together and the previous ones have all been great and inspirational. Mooner always comes with something you don't expect and he's one of those super-experienced dj's you'll gladly commit your nighttime pleasures. I will decide spontaneously about the flow of my dj set, as always, as i love to be guided by my mood, the surroundings, the feel of the night and the dancefloor. There will be a lot of new and old bleepgeeks favourite cuts with me on the road, of course, and seeing some friends over there makes me even happier about tomorrow! Charlie Delta, Metro Metro Oscar!

Ozo - Dreaming

I found this pearl in a box full of Heino-records at the local fleamarket. The box stood in the summersun and the whole wax already started melting. I was lucky: it has only slight heat damage in the grooves --- BUT it's bended like a salad bowl! ....still playable on an1210. Whow, this really feels like a dream...Do you have similar experiences? Let me know!

Sa. 15.10.2011: bleepgeeks with FUNKINEVEN (Eglo Records/London) @ Eden, Ulm

Stevie J. a.k.a. It's Club Music of the 21st Century!

Electric Banana Band – Singe-Linge Disco (1983)

Funky, positive and suntanned Disco from Sweden with a great sense of humour. The a-side of this record is called U.F.B., which means Unidentified Flying Banana. Seems like bananas were the main inspiration source for those guys from Electric Banana Band. As it comes to the music, it's always big fun to listen to this record. I should upload U.F.B. too! 07.07.2011: DO WE DO @ KONG

I was kindly invited by the Kong crew from Munich to play at their weekly "Do We Do" gathering on Thursdays. This will be a beginning of a series maybe, with bleepgeeks dj's taking place at Kong. Not sure yet what the content of my record bag will look like but things slowly start to devise as i was lucky to get hands on a few new old records lately, from all over the place. That is and always will be(at least for me) one of the biggest fun parts of deejaying. Selecting records and music for different occasions. Head and hands start working and various records from various places initiate bridges and routes, triggering new ideas with joy and anticipation. The Kong route will surely be warm and wealthy. I've been there once and felt good vibes over there, so i'm just looking forward to work the floor and see some Munich friends! Oh, we were talking music, right!? This just found the way to my record box, a long-term personal favourite on mine:

Fried Tofu Edits Vol. 2

We got mail from Fried Tofu Headquarters! No, there wasn't any Tofu wrapped in but very good news from the release corner. The faithfully conducted vinyl only label is based around the idea of creating dedicated edits from well known and obscure disco/funk tunes without walking right into the 'bass-war', 'loudness' and 'cheap showmanship' trap, which is sadly the case these days, considering all the imersional and unimaginative edit releases that flood the market(we naturally stay out of the judges and hangmen game though). As opposed to this Fried Tofu is doing super well, has done a great job with its first record and the second one with even more discofied madness is just to come. Fried Tofu is on the bleepgeeks disco radar. Boogie while its hot and before they're gone!
